Mullayanagiri (also spelled Mullayyanagiri) gets its name from the sage Mullappa, who is believed to have meditated here. At 1,930 meters, it is the highest peak in Karnataka and a prominent landmark of the Baba Budangiri range. The summit features a small Shiva temple and an abandoned British‑era watchtower that offers dizzying views.
